Nice Wander Trail

In the Osceola National Forest, this trail provides accessible-with-assistance loops of 1, 1.1, and 1.8 miles in a forest of grand old longleaf pines, where you can see the wax-like drip of sap down the sides of nesting trees used by red-cockaded woodpeckers.

It’s a part of the Florida Trail providing short loop hikes from the Olustee Trailhead; the longest loop leads out to a nice boardwalk with bench over a bayhead area. The return trail is a forest road.

DIRECTIONS: Follow US 41 south from White Springs to Lake City. Turn left on US 90. Drive 15 miles east. Turn left into Olustee Battlefield. Make an immediate left into the trailhead after you cross the railroad tracks. Follow the orange blazes west from the trailhead into the tall longleaf pines.
